We are always socially committed, our President Emma Aru is the Vice President of Progetto Itaca Roma.

Last weekend, on the occasion of the World Mental Health Day, we supported an extremely important event:

ALL CRAZY FOR RICE 2021

7th edition

On 9 and 10 October, on the occasion of the World Mental Health Day, the volunteers of the Progetto Itaca Roma association were present in the main sports clubs and in the most beautiful squares of the capital, to give information on the free services guaranteed to the families of people with mental discomfort and to offer customized packs of “Carnaroli” rice in exchange of a small donation that will be entirely donated to rehabilitation services for young girls and boys with serious psychological difficulties.
To make the gesture of solidarity even more special, as a gift together with the rice package, two new recipes will be distributed exclusively for Progetto Itaca by the renowned starred chef Antonio Guida, executive chef of the Seta restaurant, Mandarin Oriental Milan.
The “All crazy for rice” initiative will take place simultaneously nationally to animate 16 Italian cities (Milan, Rome, Florence, Palermo, Naples, Genoa, Padua, Lecce, Catanzaro, Parma, Bologna, Perugia, Turin, Verona, Como , Asti), and more than 50 places with the help of over 300 volunteers.
The Itaca Roma Project Club is particularly active in the capital: a free rehabilitation and job placement service for young people and adults, where 106 patients are enrolled. For family members, on the other hand, the “Family to Family” orientation and training course is always available free of charge. There are also self-help groups and information services in schools to help adolescents and teachers to prevent mental illness.
The new “Youth in Mind” project has been activated this year for adolescents, which aims is to develop information, awareness and support programs for mental health during adolescence. Project partners are Esselunga, which supports the activities thanks to the Fidaty Points collection, and the pharmaceutical company Lundbeck Italia, which supports training for teachers and parents.
