Dubai, UAE
01 Oct 2021 - 31 Mar 2022

Expo 2020 in Dubai, which started in 2021 due to the pandemic, closed on March 31st. The Italian Pavilion completed a semester full of events and initiatives, exceeding the 1 million and six hundred thousand visitors in attendance (1,619,850) and reaching 13 million online users all over the world.

The Italian Pavilion, with the claim "Beauty connects People", has been assigned two prestigious awards: best Pavilion at the UAE Innovates Awards, given to the most innovative project in the category "Best innovation that achieves sustainability" and a bronze in the awards of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) - the governing body of the Expo - for the "best interpretation of the theme". The award received from the BIE has enhanced the uniqueness of the exhibition path of the Pavilion, which had the most admired and narrated element in the 3D reproduction of Michelangelo's David by all major international and Italian media.

The Italian Pavilion have also obtained the prize of The Exhibitor Magazine (USA) for the "Best element of the exhibition path of a Pavilion at Expo Dubai.

"Italy comes out greatly from Expo 2020 Dubai, with international awards for showing its excellence in innovation, sustainability and creativity with the Pavilion", commented the Commissioner General for Italy at Expo Dubai , Paolo Glisenti.

The tender was officially assigned to the Consortium in the first days of August, with the opening of the expo on 1 October. Therefor the timetable to structure the work group and all the supplies was very short

The administrative / legal management was undoubtedly one of the main challenges faced. Managing a public contract under Italian law in the context of UAE regulations and operating as a Consortium was very complex
