The world congress of the World Association for Infant Mental Health was organized for the
first time in Italy thanks to the Italian Association for Infant Mental Health, which EGA
supported right from the beginning when it submitted its candidacy in 2014, and thanks to
the highly enthusiastic team that started to work one year in advance in Tampere, Finland.

1500 abstracts to be received: the minimum number for the Organizing Committee, a difficult target to reach for the organizers

Thanks to several strategies including e-blast and social media campaigns as a core part of the digital marketing strategy, EGA managed to exceed the target of 1500 abstracts and boost the overall visibility of the Congress. A very welcomed result: a heart-felt thank you by all the participants and great visibility within the Infant Mental Health Community

Challenges

A low-cost registration conference with no sponsors and high communication and technology standards, to be organized in Rome, an attractive and eternal city, but with logistic issues that make it difficult to fully enjoy it

The innumerable and apparently insurmountable difficulties related to the budget were overcome with a great team work approach, with great attention to each expenditure item and with low-cost alternative solutions in the set-up of the conference and in the social and cultural events
